Baby George's Development in Week 2
photo

Baby George is able to lift his head slightly during tummy-time, but only for a brief moment. And his eyesight is still limited to 8 to 10 inches - just about the distance he is from Mommy and Daddy's face while nursing - but will improve steadily in the coming weeks.

Research has proven that stimulating a child's brain early in life can have a significant effect on how he responds to learning later in life. Right now, Mommy and Daddy stimulate Baby George's brain by holding him close and speaking softly, letting him focus on our faces and letting him hear the sound of our voices. Daddy actually finds massaging is faster then burping.  Both Mommy and Daddy are singing to Baby George and both let him hear our heartbeats by taking turns holding him skin to skin. Significant bonding occurs between Mommy/Daddy and baby during these first weeks that will continue to grow deeper over time.
