We just got back from our BABYMOON.   In case you haven't heard of this term, which many people that Spe has spoken to haven't, this is the new phrase for the expectant parent's last vacation before the baby arrives.

We went to Sauguatuck Michigan which is a three hour drive from Chicago not counting the traffic you will experience on the Ryan/Skyway due to summertime construction.  The hotel that Jenifer had picked out was perfect.  It was The Beachway Resort which was located closest to Oval Beach and was the largest resort in Saugatuck with a major pool, complimentary VHS library of movies to watch in your room, and popular board games. 

Needless to say, we didn't need the board games and we didn't really watch the movies.  What we did do was "parent watch" (watching parents with their infant/toddler children and make several mental notes) as we are both excited about becomming parents of our future son.  Only once did Spe get caught eyeing and pinching the tires of a baby stroller that was parked outside of a restaurant as Spe tries to confirm which is the best stroller for Baby George.

We both had a terrific time for the four day trip even though we only had one great day of weather and three days of drizzle/rain.  During the rain days, we traveled to Grand Haven, Holland, and South Haven, all in Michigan.
